Beyonce offered half a billion dollars for X Factor judging contract

BEYONCE could be one step closer to becoming the girl who runs the world if rumours of a $US500 million ($467 million) X Factor offer are true.

Mediatakeout.com reports Simon Cowell allegedly called the new mum and offered the singing superstar $100 million a year for a five year contract with X Factor USA.

The website claims the news comes from an “extremely reliable insider” – the very same source who revealed Jennifer Lopez was joining American Idol in 2010.

“(Cowell) wants a big name female star on the panel,” the source told the website.

“Mariah (Carey) is good, but she’s not that hot today. He wants Beyonce because that would immediately give him the bounce needed to beat American Idol.”

The news comes just days after Cowell announced the dumping of former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who are reportedly “laced with hurt and disbelief” at being axed.

Desperate to revive the franchise, Cowell believes Beyonce is the one to do it.

If it’s true, the half a billion dollar deal would make Knowles the highest paid female entertainer in the world and push her and husband Jay-Z’s combined income to well over $1 billion.

The staggering figure is similar to the gross domestic product (GDP) of an entire small country such as Samoa, whose economic output for it’s 183,000 people is approximately $530 million per year.

Together, the combined income of baby Blue Ivy’s parents would earn them more than the 168th richest country in the world, just above Liberia.

Neither Knowles nor Cowell have made any comment on the speculation but MediaTakeOut.com said to expect a “major” career announcement from the singer in the next month.

Knowles is no stranger to the X Factor franchise. In 2008 she appeared as a mentor and performed a duet with the winner.
